Polar has introduced the Grit X2, its latest outdoor-focused smartwatch aimed at athletes, hikers, and endurance enthusiasts. The launch comes a year after the company released the Grit X Pro in March 2024. The new model builds on its predecessor with improved navigation tools, a more advanced biosensing suite, and a refined user experience designed for extended outdoor use.

The Grit X2 features a 1.28-inch AMOLED touchscreen with a resolution of 416×416 pixels. It uses sapphire glass for durability and supports always-on display and ambient light adjustment. The watch includes dual-frequency GPS and supports major satellite systems such as GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, and QZSS. It also offers turn-by-turn navigation powered by Komoot and offline maps stored on 32GB of internal storage.

The smartwatch includes Polar’s Elixir sensor platform, which enables ECG readings, blood oxygen monitoring, skin temperature tracking, and Gen 4 optical heart rate sensing. Additional sensors include a barometer, compass, accelerometer, and gyroscope, allowing for accurate environmental and motion tracking.

Polar has equipped the Grit X2 with a 310mAh battery that supports up to 30 hours in performance training mode, 90 hours in eco mode, and up to 7 days in standard smartwatch use. The device runs on a 275MHz processor with 37MB of memory and connects via Bluetooth 5.1. Charging is handled through a proprietary USB-C cable.

In terms of features, the Grit X2 supports smartphone notifications, music control, and Polar’s suite of health and fitness tools. These include FitSpark training guidance, Recovery Pro, FuelWise nutrition reminders, and wrist-based running power. Sleep tracking options include Nightly Recharge, Sleep Plus Stages, and SleepWise.

Pricing and Availability

The Polar Grit X2 is priced at €479.90 and is available in Night Black and Brown Copper. It is now on sale through Polar’s website and authorized retailers.
