The Tecno Pova Curve 5G enters the competitive sub-Rs 20,000 segment with a focus on design and display, offering a curved AMOLED screen, a slim profile, and a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultimate chipset. Priced at Rs15,999 for the 6GB+128GB variant, it aims to attract buyers looking for a premium feel without breaking the bank. But does it deliver where it matters? Let’s break it down.

3Performance and Software

Tecno Pova Curve 5G
  • MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultimate
  • LPDDR5 RAM | UFS 2.2 storage
  • Variants: 6GB+128GB | 8GB+128GB
  • 5,500mAh battery | 45W charging
  • Android 15 | HiOS 15

Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultimate (4nm), the Pova Curve 5G handles everyday tasks smoothly. The 8GB LPDDR5 RAM variant (with optional 8GB virtual expansion) and UFS 2.2 storage ensure snappy app launches and multitasking. In benchmarks, it scores around 6.7 lakh on AnTuTu, placing it ahead of many competitors in its range.

Gaming performance is respectable—BGMI runs at 90fps on Smooth settings, though sustained high graphics may cause slight heating. The 11-layer cooling system helps, but this isn’t a dedicated gaming phone.

On the software front, HiOS 15 (based on Android 15) is cleaner than previous iterations but still has some bloatware. Tecno promises one major OS update (to Android 16) and two years of security patches—a weak point compared to rivals offering two OS updates. AI features like Circle to Search, AI Eraser, and a multilingual voice assistant (Ella) add some novelty.  The phone stands out with its practical AI features supporting Indian regional languages like Hindi and Bangla, enabling smart replies, voice input, and recommendations in local vernaculars.

Battery life is excellent, with the 5500mAh cell lasting a day and a half on moderate use. The 45W charger claims a 50 percent charge in 30 minutes, but real-world tests show a full charge takes around 75 minutes. Here’s how the device performed on benchmarking apps.
