However, a press release spotted by SamMobile offers a tantalizing hint. Samsung announced a partnership with two major New York City running clubs, sponsoring events to showcase its Galaxy wearables, starting with the NYCRuns Queens Ice Cream Social 5K on July 13, 2025. This timing and location have led insiders to speculate that Unpacked could happen around the same day, likely in New York City, leveraging the running events to promote the Galaxy Watch 8 series.
The Galaxy Z Fold7 is rumored to be slimmer with a larger display and boast a 200MP main sensor, while the Z Flip7 is expected to sport a redesigned cover screen. The Z Flip7 FE, a first for Samsung’s Fan Edition foldables, could attract budget-conscious buyers with toned-down specs but the same clamshell charm. Speculations also suggest the event will highlight Gemini AI integration and One UI 8, based on Android 16, for the foldables.
