Honor recently confirmed that the Honor Magic V5 foldable phone will be unveiled on July 2 in China. At the 2025 MWC Shanghai event, CEO George Zhao revealed that the upcoming device will integrate advanced AI features and set new standards in foldable smartphone design. Here’s a look at the details shared by him.
Honor Magic V5 to be world’s thinnest, lightest foldable phone

According to George Zhao, the Honor Magic V5 will be the world’s lightest and thinnest foldable smartphone. Although he did not disclose precise dimensions, recent leaks indicate the Magic V5 may measure approximately 8mm when unfolded and weigh between 210 and 219 grams.
He added that the Magic V5 will be the most advanced AI-powered device in its category. The phone will support a full-stack personal knowledge system, multi-agent AI collaboration, PC-level productivity, and seamless connectivity across all Honor devices.

As per reports, the Honor Magic V5 will feature a 7.95-inch 2K+ LTPO inner display and a 6.45-inch outer screen. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Leading Version chipset, featuring CPU cores up to 4.47GHz and a 1200MHz GPU.
With a 6,100mAh battery inside, it will arrive as the largest battery seen on a foldable phone. The device is expected to support 80W wired charging and wireless charging. The phone also features a 200-megapixel primary camera, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and Beidou satellite messaging support. It is expected to come in Velvet Black, Warm White, Dawn Gold, and Silk Road Dunhuang colorways.
Apart from the Honor Magic V5, the company will announce a slew of products, including the MagicPad 3, on the said date in China. The flagship tablet is expected to arrive with a 13.3-inch LCD panel, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, 66W charging, and a 5.79mm slim profile.
