Samsung is bringing one of its coolest video features to more affordable phones. Thanks to a new update, the Galaxy A36 and A56 can now apply slow-motion effects to regular videos — no fancy equipment or pro editing skills needed.

The feature comes through Samsung’s Galaxy Enhance-X app

The Galaxy Enhance-X app now includes an AI-powered “Slow Mo” mode. It’s similar to the Instant Slow Mo feature found on flagship devices like the Galaxy S25 series. Announced via Samsung’s community forum, the update makes it possible to add smooth slow-motion to any video, even if it wasn’t originally recorded in slow-motion.

For anyone who enjoys sharing content online, this could be a fun way to highlight dramatic or emotional moments, sports clips, or just elevate everyday memories. With a simple tap while the video plays, you can slow down a section, then release to go back to normal speed — up to three slow-motion moments per clip.

On the Galaxy A56, the feature is built directly into the Gallery app. For the A36, it works through the Galaxy Enhance-X app version 15.2.17. This feature uses AI to generate new frames required for a smoother slow-motion effect. According to Samsung, the AI-generated frames does not affect the clarity of the video.

This update is part of Samsung’s broader effort to bring premium features to its mid-range Galaxy A-series. If you haven’t already, you can download the Galaxy Enhance-X app from the Galaxy Store to give it a try.
