The Tecno Pova 7 series finally made its official debut last week, as one of the brand’s most ambitious releases. With bold aesthetics, gamer-friendly LED lighting, massive batteries, and performance-first hardware, the series aims to deliver big value at a competitive price. Whether you’re after unique styling or an affordable gaming-ready device, the Pova 7 series makes a strong case in the mid-range segment. So here’s everything that makes these devices special.
Futuristic New Look
Each brand has its distinct smartphone design, with the best of the unique aesthetics being restricted to premium devices. While Tecno isn’t a company known for its ultra high end flagships, it has a large portfolio of affordable and mid-range models. A typical budget phone doesn’t offer much in terms of its design, but the Pova 7 series has a distinct futuristic look.
The Pova 7 Ultra 5G, Pova 7 Pro 5G, Pova 7 5G, Pova Curve 5G, and the base Pova 7 all come with the new “Interstellar Spaceship” design language. This also includes the triangular geometric emblems and an upgraded Mini-LED status light that can be customized for notification, gaming effects, and more.
Brand-New AI Tools & Smart Assistant
A suite of AI tools has basically become the standard for flagship phones, with the feature slowly trickling down to affordable models. But despite Tecno’s new Pova 7 series targeting different segments, you get access to the Tecno AI Anywhere and Ella Smart Assistant. AI Anywhere Portal acts as a central hub for tools like Ask Ella (Assistant), AI Call Full-Link Assistant for live translation, noise cancellation, and automated call summaries.
The AI Studio Tools also aid content creation, bringing tools like AIGC Portrait 2.0, AI Eraser, and AI Image Extender, that is perfect for content creation. Popular AI features like Circle to Search are making their way to these as well, allowing users to identify objects or places in real-time.
Massive Batteries
Tecno built these smartphones for gaming and endurance, with every model packing sizeable battery packs. The top-end Pova 7 Ultra houses a huge 6,000mAh cell that supports 70W wired fast charging, 30W wireless fast charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging.
Wireless charging tech is uncommon in this range, so having it on the Pova 7 Pro and base Pova 7 5G model is also a great feature at this price range. The 4G only Pova 7 takes battery to the next level with an even more massive 7,000mAh battery, with 45W wired fast charging support.
Built for Gaming
Since the brand positions these devices to appeal mobile gamers on a budget, it brings some features that help make the gameplay better. To offer a more immersive experience, the Pova 7 lineup supports Dolby Atmos on the dual stereo speaker setup along with 4G gaming vibration and responsive haptics as well.
Gaming puts an intense load on the smartphones, so Tecno introduced multi-layered cooling system to help reduce the temperature while gaming by up to 3°C under load to allow for longer play sessions without thermal throttling.
