Oppo has added a new contender to the budget 5G smartphone market with the launch of the Oppo K13x 5G. Priced from Rs 11,999, this device appears geared toward users who want long battery life, practical design, and dependable day-to-day performance without breaking the bank. I spent some early time with the phone, and here’s what we’ve observed so far.

The K13x features a 6.67-inch LCD HD+ panel with 120Hz refresh rate, making the UI feel slick and responsive. While the HD+ resolution is a step down from what we typically expect, the panel performs adequately outdoors, with decent brightness, colors, and a 240Hz touch sampling rate that helps in gaming scenarios.

Internally, the phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, combined with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage. It handles everyday tasks well — app launches, multitasking, and casual games all run with minimal hiccups. The ColorOS 15.1 skin based on Android adds features like app cloners, split-screen, and gesture navigation, and stays largely bloat-free. As far as gaming is concerned, it is capable of handling casual games. The phone is promised to receive two years of OS upgrades and three years of security updates. A good thing is that the K13x is equipped with Oppo AI tools for photography and productivity, such as AI Eraser, AI Unblur, AI Reflection Remover, AI Clarity Enhancer, AI Summary, AI Studio, and AI Recorder. The device also features Oppo’s AI LinkBoost 2.0’s advanced 360° antenna architecture and intelligent network switching in areas with poor network coverage.
