Oppo has added a new contender to the budget 5G smartphone market with the launch of the Oppo K13x 5G. Priced from Rs 11,999, this device appears geared toward users who want long battery life, practical design, and dependable day-to-day performance without breaking the bank. I spent some early time with the phone, and here’s what we’ve observed so far.

The camera system consists of a 50-megapixel main sensor and a 2-megapixel monochrome lens. Daytime photos are decent for the segment—colors look natural, and exposure is handled well. Night photography isn’t its strongest suit, though the built-in Night mode does a passable job if you’re not pixel-peeping. The 8-megapixel front camera does fine for video calls and social sharing.

Video recording supports 1080p at 60fps from the rear and 1080p at 30fps from the front, with electronic stabilization. The camera app includes useful modes like Pro, Portrait, Panorama, and even Dual-view video.

One of the strengths of the K13x is its 6,000mAh battery, which can deliver up to two days of use on moderate settings. The inclusion of the 45W SuperVOOC charging allows the phone to gain a full charge in around 70 minutes. It also remains cool during fast charging and extended use—a plus in this price bracket. While it features a single speaker, the device is equipped with the good old 3.5mm jack for audiophiles.
