Honor has officially confirmed that its new foldable phone, the Honor Magic V5, will debut in Malaysia on July 15th. Earlier this month, the Magic V5 was unveiled in China, distinguished as the world’s slimmest and lightest foldable phone. This upcoming launch marks its global debut, with Honor Malaysia releasing an official confirmation.

As can be seen above, Honor has officially confirmed that the Honor Magic V5 will launch on July 15 in Malaysia. The post claims that the V5 will arrive with no compromise in departments like battery, camera, and durability.

Honor Magic V5 specifications

In China, the Magic V5 comes in two battery variants, such as 5,820mAh and 6,100mAh. It is likely only the 5820mAh variant could be released in markets outside of China.

The Magic V5 has a 7.95-inch foldable LTPO AMOLED panel and it has a 6.43-inch LTPO OLED cover screen. Under the hood, the device is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, up to 16GB of RAM, and up to 1TB of storage.

The Magic V5 has a 20-megapixel cover display camera and a 20-megapixel camera on the internal screen. On the back, the device is fitted with a 50-megapixel main camera with OIS support, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens with autofocus, and a 64-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with OIS support.

The Magic V5 has other features like a side-facing fingerprint scanner, dual speakers, 66W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, a USB-C (Gen 3.1), and an IR blaster. It has a thickness of 8.8mm and weighs 217 grams.

The Honor Magic V5 is set to compete with the likes of the Oppo Find N5, Vivo X Fold 5, and Galaxy Z Fold 7 in Malaysia. While the Oppo offering has already launched, the Vivo and Samsung devices are also expected to debut in Malaysia soon.
