Xiaomi is deepening its collaboration with Leica with a new special edition model of its flagship smartphone. The Xiaomi 15 Ultra 100 Years of Leica edition celebrates the camera brand’s long history with its Leica-inspired design and exclusive packaging.
Xiaomi 15 Ultra 100 Years of Leica Edition: What makes it special?
To commemorate 100 years of the legendary Leica 1, Xiaomi announced the limited edition Xiaomi 15 Ultra. For those unaware, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra features an impressive camera system that is further enhanced by the Leica partnership. So with this new model, the special Xiaomi 15 Ultra edition arrives in a large gift box, which includes an exclusive Xiaomi x Leica Humanistic Photography Series photobook.
You also get a unique new design that is made to resemble the iconic Leica 1. The Xiaomi 15 Ultra 100 Years of Leica brings a silver back that includes golden accents, most notably across the large camera ring. For a more authentic camera look, the frame also has a chipped gray frame that shows the metal underneath to give the look of a used camera. Apart from the visual differences, the special edition features the same exact internals and camera specs as the regular Xiaomi 15 Ultra.
So you still get the massive 1-inch primary camera on the rear with a large 200MP telephoto shooter with 4.3x optical zoom that also has a 1//1.4-inch sensor size. You also get another 50MP 3x telephoto shooter and a 50MP ultra wide angle lens. Other notable features include a Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, a 6.73-inch LTPO AMOLED QHD display, and an IP68 rated body. This announcement also arrives weeks after the Xiaomi 15 Ultra got a redesigned camera grip with new colors.
