Microsoft has launched the Surface Laptop 5G for business users. It runs on Intel Core Ultra (Series 2) processors and includes an integrated 5G modem with support for both NanoSIM and eSIM. The rollout starts on August 26, 2025, through Microsoft’s business partners, including Verizon Business.

The laptop features a dynamic antenna system with six antennas placed across the body. The system adjusts signal strength and direction based on how the laptop is held, helping maintain stable 5G connectivity. It can also work as a mobile hotspot to share the 5G connection with other devices.

The Surface Laptop 5G has a 13.8-inch touchscreen with a 2304 × 1536 pixel resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It supports HDR, Dolby Vision IQ, and Adaptive Color Technology.

It comes with 16GB or 32GB LPDDR5x RAM and storage options of 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB, using a removable Gen 4 SSD. The laptop includes a Full HD Surface Studio Camera with AI effects, Omnisonic speakers with Dolby Atmos, an improved keyboard with better key travel, and a large haptic precision touchpad.

Location support includes GNSS L1, GPS, Galileo, BeiDou, QZSS, and NAVIC. For ports, the device includes two USB-C ports with USB4 and Thunderbolt 4 support (can connect up to two 4K monitors), one USB-A 3.1 port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a Surface Connect port.

Pricing and Availability

The Surface Laptop 5G is available in Silver. The base model with Intel Core Ultra 5, 16GB RAM, and 256GB storage is priced at USD 1,799.99. The top variant with Intel Core Ultra 7, 32GB RAM, and 1TB storage costs USD 2,699.99. It will be sold through Microsoft’s business partners and select Verizon stores in the coming months.
