Google’s Pixel 10 lineup is shaping up to be one of the most exciting smartphone releases of the year — but not everything is arriving on time. According to a new report, the company is planning a staggered rollout, with its foldable flagship and some wearables expected to ship later than the rest.

Citing “well-informed sources”, WinFuture reports that while the Pixel 10, 10 Pro, and 10 Pro XL will be available for pre-order on August 20, with shipping starting August 28, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold won’t be available until October 9. The delay also affects the upcoming Pixel Watch 4 and Pixel Buds 2a, though all three are still expected to go up for pre-order during Google’s main “Made by Google” event on August 20.
This means fans of Google’s foldable devices will have to wait nearly six weeks longer for delivery — even though the product will be officially unveiled alongside the rest of the lineup.
Possible supply chain or production hurdles
While Google hasn’t commented publicly on the delay, the holdup may be due to production challenges. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold reportedly shares the new Tensor G5 chip with the standard Pixel 10 models, but its unique hardware — including a redesigned hinge and IP68 water and dust resistance — may be proving more complex to manufacture at scale.
Similarly, the Pixel Watch 4 is expected to debut a new charging system, and the Pixel Buds 2a are rumored to include upgraded internals for better sound and connectivity — all of which could be contributing to the slower rollout.
Even with the delay, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is shaping up to be a serious competitor to Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7. Alongside a larger 5,015mAh battery, the foldable is also expected to support Qi2 wireless charging and include a refined camera setup — upgrades that make the wait more palatable for those holding out for a premium foldable experience.
