Samsung may be preparing a major upgrade for its next flagship, the Galaxy S26 Ultra, with a new display feature designed to protect user privacy. According to a report out of Korea, the device is expected to introduce “Flex Magic Pixel”, an OLED technology that uses AI to control viewing angles and obscure sensitive information from prying eyes.

AI-powered privacy on the display itself
Flex Magic Pixel, first shown at MWC 2024 and later at K-Display 2025, has now reportedly entered mass production. The technology can limit side visibility when certain apps are in use—such as banking or messaging apps—without sacrificing screen brightness or image quality. Unlike traditional privacy screen protectors, which often affect the viewing experience, Samsung’s approach is built directly into the panel.
For example, if someone is trying to glance over your shoulder, the content would appear obscured to them, while you still see the contents clearly. The feature is said to be exclusive to the Ultra model at launch but could expand to the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Z Flip8 later in 2026.
Reports also point to a revised naming scheme for the Galaxy S26 lineup: S26 Pro, S26 Edge (or possibly S26 Air), and S26 Ultra, replacing this year’s Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra.
The S26 Pro is expected to use Samsung’s 2nm Exynos 2600 chipset, while the Edge and Ultra are being tested with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite 2. If Samsung does keep the new Flex Magic Pixel display feature exclusive to the Ultra, it would further widen the gap between the top-tier model and its more affordable siblings.
