Xiaomi has released the Smart Camera C100 in several European markets. The indoor security camera was first listed on Xiaomi’s global website earlier this year, and it is now available for purchase in the UK and Germany through the company’s online store at £24.99 and €24.99. It is also listed on Amazon in Germany, Spain, France, and the Netherlands, although shipping from Amazon will begin in about a month.
Specifications
The Smart Camera C100 features a 3MP sensor that records video at 2304 × 1296 resolution. It uses the H.265 video codec to cut storage needs and improve playback. The camera has a 128-degree wide-angle lens and an f/1.6 aperture, which allow full-color video capture in low-light conditions. For night use, it includes invisible 940nm infrared LEDs that avoid the red glow often seen on other cameras.
Features
AI functions on the C100 include human detection, crying baby alerts, loud noise detection, and virtual fence monitoring. The camera can track movement and send alerts if someone enters or leaves a set area. Two-way voice calls are supported through the Xiaomi Home app, with Acoustic Echo Cancellation and Noise Suppression for clear audio.
Privacy and Connectivity
A physical lens shield can be slid into place to stop recording, and users can set up privacy masking zones to block selected areas from monitoring. Xiaomi says all AI processing is handled locally for better performance and reduced cloud use.
The Smart Camera C100 supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2, and it works with Android 8.0 or later and iOS 12.0 or later. It can connect with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. Storage options include microSD cards up to 256GB, NAS devices, and Xiaomi’s cloud storage service.
The camera weighs 170 grams and measures 69 × 68 × 115 mm. It runs on a 5V⎓1A power source. Xiaomi has not confirmed a full global rollout, but the current listings point to a wider launch soon.
