JBL has announced the PartyBox 720, its most powerful battery-powered Bluetooth speaker to date. It takes the company’s popular party speaker lineup into a new direction by cutting the cord, packing 800 watts of JBL Pro Sound into a rolling, splashproof design that is made to move.

The PartyBox 720 is a large speaker, measuring nearly 95 centimeters in height and weighing 31 kilograms, which makes it too heavy to carry by hand. JBL has addressed this by adding wide, durable wheels and an ergonomic handle so that it can be rolled into place.
The speaker is IPX4 splashproof, meaning it can withstand splashes and light exposure to water, making it suitable for poolside or outdoor events. Once set up, it provides up to 15 hours of continuous playtime through its swappable batteries. The fast-charging system allows for two extra hours of playback with just 10 minutes of charging, while optional backup batteries can be used to keep the music going without limits.
JBL has equipped the PartyBox 720 with two massive 9-inch woofers and a pair of 1.25-inch dome tweeters. The result is bass-heavy sound that extends down to 32Hz, balanced with crisp highs designed to keep dance floors full. The company pairs this with a dynamic lightshow system, a mix of starry patterns, flowing trails, and pulsing strobes that sync with the beat.
The PartyBox 720 isn’t just about Bluetooth. It supports USB, line-in, aux-in, and two XLR inputs for microphones, guitars, or DJ setups, making it versatile enough for karaoke nights and live performances. The speaker is also Auracast-enabled, allowing stereo pairing with another PartyBox 720 or wireless linking with multiple JBL Auracast speakers for a bigger soundstage.
It runs on Bluetooth 5.4 and supports popular music file formats like MP3, WAV, and FLAC via USB. It also features the dedicated PartyBox app that lets users control EQ, sound settings, and lighting directly from a phone without standing over the speaker.

The JBL PartyBox 720 is available for pre-order at $1,099.95 in the US, with shipping expected to begin on September 21, 2025.
