Qualcomm is set to launch its next flagship chip on September 22, tentatively called the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Most of its details have already surfaced through earlier leaks, and now a new one is filling in the performance picture.
According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 scores between 4.20 and 4.40 million points on AnTuTu v11. That would make it the highest number we’ve seen for any mobile processor so far on the benchmark.

However, Qualcomm isn’t the only one chasing benchmark numbers. MediaTek’s upcoming Dimensity 9500 recently surfaced in a Vivo X300 Pro prototype, scoring 4,011,932 on the same test.
According to earlier reports, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is expected to feature two prime cores clocked at 4.61GHz, along with six performance cores running at 3.63GHz. For graphics, Qualcomm is pairing the processor with an Adreno 840 GPU clocked at 1.2GHz, which should deliver a major boost in gaming and AI workloads.
The Dimensity 9500 also uses an all big-core setup, with four Cortex-X930 and four Cortex-A730 cores. Vivo further confirmed that it’s working directly with Arm on the design and that the chip will support the SME2 instruction set.
As for launch hardware, Xiaomi’s 16 series is expected to debut the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, while Vivo’s X300 series will be the first with MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500. Both lineups are slated to arrive later this month.
