Microsoft has opened pre-orders in India for the new Surface Pro 12-inch, part of the Copilot+ PC lineup launched earlier this year. The device weighs 686g and has a 2-in-1 design with a 165° full friction kickstand and detachable Surface Keyboard for switching between tablet and laptop use.
Display and Design
The Surface Pro 12-inch has a 12-inch PixelSense LCD touchscreen with 2196 x 1464 resolution at 220 PPI. It supports a 3:2 aspect ratio, 90Hz refresh rate (60Hz default), 400 nits brightness (SDR), and a 1200:1 contrast ratio. The display offers sRGB and enhanced color profiles, color calibration, adaptive color and contrast, 10-point multi-touch, and strengthened glass.
Performance and Hardware
It runs on the Snapdragon X Plus 8-core processor with a Qualcomm Hexagon NPU delivering 45 TOPS and a Qualcomm Adreno GPU. The device comes with 16GB LPDDR5x RAM and storage options of 256GB or 512GB UFS. Battery life is rated up to 16 hours of local video playback and up to 12 hours of active web use. Size is 274 x 190 x 7.8 mm.
Security and Features
The Surface Pro 12-inch includes Microsoft Pluton TPM 2.0, Windows 11 Secured-core PC, Windows Hello Face Authentication, and Microsoft Defender. Cameras include a 1080p Full HD Surface Studio front camera with Windows Studio Effects and a 10MP Ultra HD rear camera. Audio is provided by 2W stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and dual studio microphones with enhanced voice focus.
Connectivity and Accessories
Ports include 2x USB-C (USB 3.2, charging, DP 1.4a, 2x 4K@60Hz, TB4 dock) and a Surface Keyboard connector. Charging supports fast charging with 45W+ via Surface Connect or USB-C. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 with LE Audio. The device supports the Surface Slim Pen 2 with haptics, Microsoft Pen Protocol, rear integrated storage, and wireless charging.
Other Details
Sensors include ambient color sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope, and magnetometer. The operating system is Windows 11 Home. Accessibility features include optional bold keyset, Surface Adaptive Kit, Microsoft adaptive accessories, and Windows Accessibility Features. Sustainability measures include 100% recycled cobalt in the battery, 71% recycled packaging, and ENERGY STAR certification. Color options are Platinum, Violet, and Ocean.

Pre-orders are open through Amazon.in, Vijay Sales, and Croma until October 5, 2025. Customers get a free Surface Pro Keyboard worth ₹15,199. The 16GB/256GB variant is priced at ₹90,999 and the 16GB/512GB variant at ₹99,999.
