Nextorage has announced the NX-PFS1PRO in Japan, a new professional-grade portable SSD designed for enterprise and video production use. The company will begin accepting orders starting November 19, 2025.
It is available in 1TB, 2TB, 4TB, and 8TB capacities, priced at ¥47,740 ($310), ¥59,620 ($387), ¥88,440 ($575), and ¥179,520 ($1,167), respectively.
Nextorage NX-PFS1PRO Specifications
The NX-PFS1PRO features a USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 Type-C interface, offering up to 20Gbps bandwidth and sequential read/write speeds of up to 2,000MB/s. The drive is equipped with a built-in display that shows real-time data transfer speed, current temperature, and SSD health status. The health is categorized into three levels: Good, Warning, and Bad.
Nextorage has developed the NX-PFS1PRO based on feedback from professionals in the video production industry. The drive supports high-frequency read/write cycles and provides visual indicators to help users manage data effectively in real time. It has an IP54 dust and water resistance rating and can withstand drops from up to 1.3 meters.
The SSD includes advanced security features such as hardware encryption and a locking mechanism that can instantly erase data if unauthorized access is detected. It supports multiple authentication methods, including contactless IC card unlock, app-based unlock via PC, browser-based Wi-Fi unlock, and automatic unlock in pre-defined Wi-Fi zones. The device also logs authentication events with timestamps and unlock results.
The NX-PFS1PRO supports Power Delivery (PD) passthrough, allowing users to charge upstream devices and transfer data through a single Type-C port. This enables simultaneous charging and file transfer, improving workflow efficiency during shoots or editing sessions.
In related news, Lexar introduced the TouchLock SSD featuring NFC-based secret unlock and MagSafe support, while Corsair released the EX300U SSD offering up to 1100MB/s transfer speeds, MagSafe compatibility, and storage options of up to 4TB.
