Huawei officially unveiled the Mate 70 Air in China last week, and it’s now up for grabs starting today at 4199 yuan (~$575). The smartphone comes in three color options—Obsidian Black, Feather White, and Silver Brocade—and buyers can choose from four memory configurations.
Here are the prices of each variant:
- 12GB + 256GB – 4,199 yuan (~$575)
- 12GB + 512GB – 4,699 yuan (~$645)
- 16GB + 256GB – 4,699 yuan (~$645)
- 16GB + 512GB – 5,199 yuan (~$715)
The 70 Air is Huawei’s thinnest Mate device ever, measuring just 6.6mm thick and weighing 208 grams.

It features a 7-inch OLED display with a 2760 × 1320 resolution and an adaptive refresh rate of 60/90/120Hz. The screen can also reach an impressive 4000 nits of peak brightness, which should make outdoor visibility a breeze.
Power under the hood
Huawei is offering the Mate 70 Air in two chip variants. The 12GB RAM models come powered by the Kirin 9020B, while the 16GB versions use the Kirin 9020A. Here’s how the lineup breaks down:
- 12GB + 256GB – 4199 yuan (Kirin 9020B)
- 12GB + 512GB – 4699 yuan (Kirin 9020B)
- 16GB + 256GB – 4699 yuan (Kirin 9020A)
- 16GB + 512GB – 5199 yuan (Kirin 9020A)
Inside, it uses a 6500mAh battery to keep things running, paired with 66W wired fast charging. Huawei also included two-way Beidou satellite communication, IP68/IP69 water and dust resistance, and symmetrical stereo speakers on the device.

On the back, the Mate 70 Air features a 50MP ultra-sensitive main sensor (1/1.3″ size, F1.8, OIS), a 12MP RYYB telephoto lens with optical stabilization, an 8MP ultra-wide macro lens, and a 1.5 million multi-spectral red maple primary color camera. Up front, there’s a 10.7MP ultra-wide selfie camera (F2.2).
