At the recent 15th National Games of China diving finals, Olympic champion Chen Yuxi not only took home the gold medal but also drew attention for another reason. During the award ceremony, she took out a yet-to-be-released Honor smartphone to take a selfie, marking the first public appearance of the upcoming Honor 500 series. This surprise reveal has generated excitement among fans eager to learn more about Honor’s latest device.
Honor 500 appears in real

Based on the event footage shared by Honor Performance Optimization R&D engineer A Yong, the Honor 500 features a refreshed horizontal camera layout that mirrors the style of the iPhone Air. Its dual-camera module adopts a unique runway-style design, consistent with previously leaked sketches. As per reports, the Honor 500 Pro will use a similar setup but include a triple-camera system for advanced photography.
The same Honor engineer recently confirmed that the series will feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8-series processors, ensuring both long battery endurance and smooth gaming through the upgraded Phantom Engine 3.0. The standard Honor 500 is expected to run on the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, whereas the Pro model may feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. Both phones may house a massive battery capacity of around 8,000mAh with 100W charging support.

The Honor 500 is said to include a 200-megapixel main sensor and an ultra-wide lens, while the Pro version’s rear camera setup could include a 200-megapixel main camera, an ultra-wide lens, and a 64-megapixel periscope telephoto camera. Both models are expected to feature a 6.5-inch flat OLED 1.5K 120Hz screen, wireless charging, and IP68/69-level water resistance. The Honor 500 series has already received network certification and is expected to be officially announced later this month.
