Kingston has launched a new Dual Portable SSD in the United States, combining the compact form factor of a traditional USB flash drive with full SSD-class performance.

The device supports USB 3.2 Gen 2 and delivers read speeds of up to 1,050MB/s and write speeds up to 950MB/s. It features both USB Type-A and Type-C connectors and comes in three storage options: 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB.
The new drive is priced at $97 for the 512GB model, $144 for the 1TB variant, and $239 for the 2TB version. All three variants use 3D NAND flash and are housed in a durable metal-plastic casing. Kingston has designed the drive to offer fast and seamless transfers across a wide range of devices, including desktops, laptops, tablets, and smartphones.
The Dual Portable SSD supports plug-and-play compatibility without requiring a cable. It has a compact design with dimensions of 71.85mm x 21.1mm x 8.6mm and weighs just 13 grams. The form factor allows it to fit easily into a pocket, backpack, or small gadget pouch.
Kingston says the drive is compatible with Windows 11, macOS 13.7.6 and later, Linux 4.4x and above, Chrome OS, Android, and iOS/iPadOS 13 and newer. It is designed to help users move large files quickly between different ecosystems. The company is targeting users who need portable high-speed storage for 4K videos, high-resolution photos, or project files.
The drive supports operating temperatures from 0°C to 60°C and storage temperatures from -20°C to 85°C. It also comes with a five-year limited warranty and free technical support. The device is now available in the U.S. through Kingston’s retail and Amazon.com.
