ASUS ROG XREAL R1 Gaming Glasses Specifications
During the ongoing CES 2026 event, ASUS made a bold announcement as it steps into immersive, wearable gaming with the ROG XREAL R1. These are a pair of AR glasses (Augmented Reality) that combine a high-performance 240Hz micro-OLED display with lightweight comfort and broad device support. these glasses are designed to project a massive virtual screen that mimics the experience of a large gaming monitor without taking up physical desktop space.

What sets the ROG XREAL R1 apart is its Full HD panel capable of refreshing at 240Hz, a first for gaming glasses. This is paired with a 57° field of view that ensures you get a smooth and responsive gameplay experience. When viewed from around 4 meters away, the virtual screen’s size can reach the equivalent of a 171-inch display, giving users a true big-screen feel from any location.
Despite packing cutting-edge display tech, the glasses remain lightweight, weighing just around 91 grams, making them comfortable for extended gaming sessions on the go. For audio, the R1 integrates Bose-tuned sound to deliver a rich 3D audio stage, rounding out the sensory experience without needing dedicated headphones. For connectivity, ASUS launched the ROG XREAL R1 gaming glasses with an included ROG Control Dock, which provides DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.0 ports along with more USB-C options.
This allows users to connect it to their gaming PCs, consoles, or even handhelds like the ROG Ally series. There is even support for seamless switching between sources. In practical terms, you can plug the glasses directly into a USB-C-equipped device for plug-and-play use, turning even small screens into immersive game worlds. While ASUS has shared no official pricing yet, the ROG XREAL R1 is expected to arrive in the first half of 2026. This launch also arrives as the brand is expected to pull the plug on its ROG series of gaming phones and Zenfone flagships.
