At CES 2026, ASUS Republic of Gamers refreshed its Zephyrus gaming lineup with the Zephyrus G14 and Zephyrus G16. These new laptops bring powerful new specs and impressive displays. Both models get AI ready hardware that promises a high end gaming experience packed into a portable form factor. So here’s everything you need to know.

What’s special about this generation? (TL;DR)

Both the G14 and G16 models deliver a significant step up from previous iterations by embracing Intel’s latest Core Ultra architecture and pairing it with class-leading OLED visuals and next-generation GPUs. Enhanced AI capabilities, assertive power limits, and improved cooling all contribute to stronger sustained performance while maintaining sleek, durable builds that carry the Zephyrus name forward into 2026.

ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14

The ROG Zephyrus G14 (2026) prioritizes a balance of mobility and gaming power in a compact 14-inch chassis that weighs around 1.5 kilograms. At its core are Intel Core Ultra Series 3 CPUs capable of delivering up to 50 TOPS of neural processing power for local AI tasks and enhanced performance across games and productivity apps. For graphics, the G14 supports up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 Laptop GPU, offering serious rendering and ray-tracing muscle for its size class.

ASUS is even offering another variant with the latest AMD Ryzen AI processors that is coupled with the RTX 5060 GPU. The laptop’s 3K Nebula HDR OLED display ramps up visuals with a 120Hz refresh rate, 0.2 ms response time, and up to 1100 nits peak brightness. This makes it ideal for both competitive gaming and media consumption. Notably, the screen also offers Corning Gorilla Glass with DXC coating for protection.

Audio is handled by the six speaker setup, and the design incorporates a CNC-milled aluminium build with a refined Slash Lighting array across the lid. Connectivity options include Thunderbolt 4, USB-C/USB-A ports, HDMI 2.1, a full-size SD card reader, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 6.0.

For gamers who want a larger viewing area without sacrificing performance, the ROG Zephyrus G16 (2026) steps up with a 16-inch 2.5K Nebula HDR OLED panel that runs at 240Hz and matches the G14’s 0.2 ms response and 1100-nit peak brightness. This display supports NVIDIA G-SYNC for smoother visuals with compatible GPUs. Under the hood, the G16 also uses Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors paired with up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU.

So one can enjoy graphically intense titles at high framerates and experience smooth creative workflows. The GPU’s power limit has been bumped up for greater sustained performance in manual mode. Like the Zephyrus G14, the G16 benefits from 50 TOPS of NPU compute power for AI-boosted features such as real-time upscaling and generative tools. ASUS has also refined its cooling architecture with enhanced ventilation, redesigned bottom panels, and liquid metal on the CPU to manage the added heat from the higher wattage graphics. The 35-zone Slash Lighting and CNC aluminum returns on this model as well.

On the usability front, the G16’s larger footprint enables a built-in full-size SD card slot, more comprehensive port coverage, and a chassis that stays relatively light (1.85 kilograms). It also matches the smaller sibling in terms of connectivity with Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, Thunderbolt 4, and a selection of USB-A ports.

ASUS is set to release the new 2026 ROG Zephyrus G14 and G16 globally later this year. In other words, pricing, availability, and other details will likely surface closer to regional launches. All configurations of both gaming laptop models meet the Copilot+ PC requirements, along with on-device AI processing.
