Just a few months after launching the Reno 15 series in China last November, early details about the next-generation Reno 16 lineup are already starting to leak out. Not entirely, as Oppo updates the Reno series roughly every six months.
According to well-known tipster Digital Chat Station, the Oppo Reno 16 series has now entered the testing phase in China. That usually means internal hardware decisions are largely locked in, even if the final product is still weeks away from public view. If Oppo sticks to its usual timeline, the Reno 16 series could arrive sometime around May.

Oppo Reno 16 Specifications (Expected)
The Reno 16 lineup is expected to continue using flat displays across multiple sizes. The Reno 15 series has a compact 6.32-inch and a 6.78-inch model, and Oppo is likely to continue offering the same screen sizes with Reno 16.
The Reno 16 series is also said to feature a 200MP main camera as standard, along with a 50MP periscope telephoto lens. Not an upgrade on megapixel count, as both the Reno 15 and Reno 15 Pro have a similar setup. But Oppo could use a newer camera sensor.

Under the hood, the phones are expected to use a MediaTek Dimensity 8500 series chipset.
Design-wise, the leak points to a metal frame and LIPO equal bezel layout on all sides. Oppo is also aiming for an ultra-thin and lightweight build to keep the Reno series focused on comfort and everyday usability rather than sheer hardware bulk.
None of this is official yet, and Oppo hasn’t acknowledged the leak. Still, with testing already underway and a mid-year launch window hinted at, the Reno 16 series may not stay a mystery for much longer.
