Samsung has launched the Galaxy M17e 5G in India as part of its budget 5G lineup. The phone focuses on battery life, basic durability, and long-term software support.

The Galaxy M17e 5G features a 6.7-inch HD+ (720 x 1600 pixels) Infinity-U LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 6nm processor with two Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.4GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores at 2GHz, along with an Arm Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. The phone comes in 4GB, 6GB, and 8GB RAM options with 128GB internal storage. Storage can be expanded up to 2TB using a microSD card through a hybrid dual SIM slot.

For cameras, the phone has a 50MP main sensor with f/1.8 aperture and a 2MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture, supported by an LED flash. On the front, there is an 8MP camera for selfies. It runs Android 16 with One UI 8 and includes Gemini Live features. Samsung has promised 6 OS updates and 6 years of security updates.

The device measures 167 x 77 x 8.2mm and weighs 199g. It uses a Glass Fibre Reinforced Polymer back panel and has a key island design for easier button access. It also has an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance and includes a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Connectivity features include 5G SA and NSA support with 12 bands, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.3, GPS with GLONASS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. It also supports USB Type-C audio and has bottom-ported speakers. The phone packs a 6000mAh battery with 25W fast charging support.

Pricing & availability

The Galaxy M17e 5G comes in Vibe Violet and Blitz Blue. Pricing starts at Rs. 12,999. It will be available on Amazon, Samsung.com, and select retail stores. Limited online sales are scheduled from 12 PM to 2 PM, and there is a Rs. 1,250 discount offer.
