After the teasing the arrival of the Redmi K90 Max in the past week, the brand has confirmed that it will debut on April 21 in China. The brand has previously confirmed that it will be positioned between the Redmi K90 and K90 Pro Max that are already available in China. Here’s a look at what to expect from the K90 Max.
Redmi K90 Max: What’s known so far

The Redmi K90 Max is confirmed to feature a 6.83-inch display with a 165Hz refresh rate and peak brightness reaching 3500 nits. It will support high frame rate gaming, with over 40 games capable of running at up to 165fps, along with specific optimizations for darker in-game environments.
It stands out as the first smartphone from the brand to feature an in-built fan-based cooling system. It uses a vertical air intake fan design measuring 18.1mm, delivering airflow of up to 0.42CFM. This setup is claimed to reduce temperatures significantly within a short span, helping maintain performance during long gaming sessions.
The cooling system is built on a suspended structure that operates independently without affecting the motherboard layout. This allows the device to retain full dust and water resistance with IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings, while also accommodating a large battery. The fan system is designed for durability as well, with a metal bearing structure and extended lifespan testing.
Powering the device will be the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset, built on an advanced 3nm process, paired with an additional independent graphics chip for enhanced gaming performance. The device is also expected to include a large 8000mAh or 8,500mAh battery with support for 100W wired charging. Other expected features include an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, symmetrical dual speakers with custom tuning, and a refined industrial design with a metal frame.
What other Redmi devices are launching on April 21
Apart from the Redmi K90 Max, the company will announce tablets, namely, the Redmi K Pad 2 powered by the Dimensity 9500 chip, and the Redmi Pad 2 SE packed with mid-range specs. The event will also see the arrival of the 14-inch and 16-inch Redmi Book Pro (2026).
