The newly launched Xiaomi Mijia central air conditioner features a dual air-outlet design that separates cooling and heating airflow paths. This approach is aimed at delivering more balanced temperature control across indoor spaces. The system is rated with a high energy efficiency score of APF 4.62, placing it in the top tier for energy-saving performance.

The internal and external units feature upgraded heat exchange systems, including a triple-row indoor unit and a dual-row outdoor setup made of copper components. This increases heat exchange efficiency by around 15 percent, which can contribute to faster cooling and better overall performance. The system also supports a wide airflow volume, making it suitable for larger rooms or open layouts.

One of the key highlights is the human-sensing airflow technology. The system can detect presence and adjust airflow accordingly, such as directing air towards occupants, avoiding direct airflow, or switching to energy-saving mode when no one is present. This adds a layer of comfort while also improving power efficiency.

The air conditioner integrates with Xiaomi’s smart ecosystem, allowing control through voice commands, mobile apps, and even remote activation from a car. It also supports OTA updates, which means features can be improved over time. Optional accessories such as a smart air management panel and health-focused modules can further enhance the indoor environment.

In terms of durability, Xiaomi is offering a long-term warranty, which indicates confidence in the product’s reliability. The pricing in China is set at 8999 Yuan (~$1,320), making it relatively competitive for a central air conditioning solution in this category. At present, there is no clarity whether this device will make it to the global market.
