Xiaomi 18 Pro Max display, chipset details emerge

According to the tipster, an upcoming flagship smartphone powered by Qualcomm’s next-generation SM8975 chip, expected to be marketed as the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro. While he did not specify the name of the device, it appears that it could be the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max. The device is said to feature a large flat display of around 6.9 inches, allowing more space for advanced internal hardware.
The prototype is also tipped to include upgraded components, such as a symmetrical dual-speaker setup and a large x-axis linear motor aimed at delivering stronger and more refined haptic feedback. Early engineering units reportedly offer improved vibration response, pointing to a better overall tactile experience.
With a combination of a large display, next-generation chipset, and enhanced hardware, the device is expected to position itself as a versatile large-screen imaging flagship, catering to users looking for both performance and camera capabilities.
Earlier this month, the tipster revealed that the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max will continue to feature a rear display like its predecessor. This time it will be powered by AI and is expected to be more versatile than before.
The tipster previously revealed that the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max prototype features a 200-megapixel 1/1.28-inch main sensor with improved efficiency and thermal control. It is also tipped to support LOFIC HDR 3.0 and enhanced low-light performance. The periscope telephoto camera could match this with a 200-megapixel sensor, enabling versatile high-end photography. For ultra-wide sensor, it may feature a 50-megapixel camera.
The Xiaomi 18 Pro Max is also said to house a massive 8,500mAh battery with 100W wired charging support. Likely, it will also offer 50W wireless charging. Being a next-generation model, it is expected to ship with the HyperOS 4-based Android 17. As far as launch is concerned, the Xiaomi 18 lineup is expected to break cover in September this year.
