Poco has expanded its M8 lineup by announcing the Poco M8s 5G for the global market. It joins the existing models such as the Poco M8 and M8 Pro. The entry-level M8s model offers a mix of modern features and large battery capacity, making it a practical option for everyday use.
Poco M8s 5G specifications and features
The Poco M8s 5G comes with a 6.9-inch Full HD+ display that supports up to a 144Hz refresh rate on compatible apps. The panel delivers a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels and offers up to 850 nits brightness in high brightness mode. It also carries TÜV Rheinland certifications for low blue light and flicker reduction, which may help during extended viewing sessions.
Under the hood, the device runs on the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chipset, built on a 6nm process. It is paired with up to 8GB LPDDR4x RAM and up to 256GB UFS 2.2 storage, along with support for microSD expansion up to 2TB. The phone ships with HyperOS 2, based on Android 15. It also features IP64-rated protection against dust and splashes, along with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security.
For photography, the handset includes a dual rear camera setup led by a 50-megapixel main sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, supported by an additional secondary lens. On the front, there is an 8-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls. Audio features include Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio support for an improved media experience.
Poco M8s 5G price and availability
The Poco M8s 5G starts at $189 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. The 8GB and 256GB model is priced at $219. These prices are introductory and may change later. The phone is available in Black and White colour options and will be sold in select global markets through Xiaomi’s online store.
