Samsung is working on at least two new mid-range smartphones for the Indian market, as the upcoming Galaxy M47 5G and Galaxy F70 Pro 5G have now been spotted on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification platform.

The BIS database includes two Samsung devices carrying the model numbers “SM-M476B/DS” and “SM-E476B/DS.” While the certification does not directly mention the commercial names of the phones, earlier IMEI database records reveal the model as Galaxy M47 5G and Galaxy F70 Pro 5G, respectively. The “DS” tag in both model numbers also hints at dual-SIM support.

According to the certification details, both devices were added to the BIS database on May 15, 2026. Such appearances are often seen as one of the final steps before a smartphone officially launches in India.

What we know so far

Among the two, the Galaxy M47 5G has already surfaced on Geekbench in recent weeks. The benchmark listing suggests that the phone could be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset. The processor is expected to feature four performance cores clocked at 2.40GHz and four efficiency cores running at 1.80GHz, along with the Adreno 710 GPU for graphics processing.

The same listing also points to 8GB RAM and Android 16 out of the box, likely with Samsung’s One UI 8 custom interface layered on top.

Interestingly, the model numbers of the two phones follow a nearly identical pattern, with only the “M” and “E” prefixes separating them. This has led to speculation that the Galaxy M47 5G and Galaxy F70 Pro 5G could share most of their hardware and possibly launch as rebranded versions of the same device for different online retail channels.

Samsung has followed a similar strategy in the past with its Galaxy M and Galaxy F series smartphones, where devices often arrive with nearly identical specifications but different branding.
