According to the company, the Oura Ring 5 is around 40 percent smaller than the previous model after a redesign of its internal components, sensors, and battery architecture. The ring measures 6.09mm in width and 2.28mm in thickness, and weighs as little as 2 grams, depending on the selected size. Oura says the ring now uses improved signal pathways and redesigned sensor domes for better accuracy across different skin tones and finger types.

The company has added several new health-focused features this time. One of the biggest additions is blood pressure trend tracking during sleep, allowing users to monitor overnight cardiovascular patterns. Oura has also introduced nighttime breathing analysis, helping users track breathing disturbances over longer periods. Alongside this, the app now supports GLP-1 tracking tools that allow users to log medication doses, side effects, weight changes, and related health data.

Users can also access AI-driven health guidance and connect with medical professionals directly through the app in select markets. The ring itself offers up to nine days of battery life and supports Bluetooth-based device tracking for locating misplaced rings or charging accessories.
