Xiaomi has launched the new Xiaomi Bluetooth Speaker C in China, expanding its portable audio lineup with a compact speaker focused on outdoor use and modern connectivity features. It is priced at 269 yuan (around $40) and will officially go on sale on May 31. This speaker is likely to launch under the Xiaomi Sound Play name in the global market later today.

Xiaomi Bluetooth Speaker C Specifications
The speaker measures 63.4 by 69.5 by 201.1mm and weighs 415g, making it relatively standard in size for a portable unit. Inside the chassis, Xiaomi has equipped an 18W full-range driver alongside dual passive radiators located on the internal and external structure. According to the spec sheet, this hardware setup covers a frequency response range of 75Hz to 20kHz with a signal-to-noise ratio of 95dB or higher.

The speaker supports Bluetooth 6.0, a standard that provides lower latency, better stability, and a wireless range of up to 25 meters. More importantly, it supports Auracast multi-device connectivity. While you can use standard TWS (True Wireless Stereo) mode to pair two units for dedicated left and right channels, Auracast allows you to link up to 100 compatible devices simultaneously to synchronize both audio playback and lighting effects.

On the exterior, the device features a black finish with orange accents and includes a soft silicone carrying strap. The base of the speaker houses an LED ring that Xiaomi refers to as a time tunnel 3D lighting system. The lights can be set to constant, ripple, or beat sync modes to react to the audio playback. The hardware is also IP68-rated, meaning it is fully protected against dust ingress and can withstand water submersion for outdoor use.

For outdoor durability, the speaker carries an IP68 rating, meaning it is fully dust-tight and can survive being submerged in water. It also features a soft silicone strap for easier handling.
Battery life is rated at up to 14 hours from the 2600mAh cell, though that metric comes with the usual manufacturer caveats: you will need to keep the volume at 40% and leave the lighting effects turned off to hit that number.
In related news, Xiaomi has recently introduced a new 13kg washer dryer with electrolytic cleaning and HyperOS integration, alongside a new AI-powered split air conditioner that promises rapid 15-second cooling.
