Xiaomi has unveiled the Sound Play, a new portable Bluetooth speaker launched globally alongside the 17T smartphone series. It is priced at £49.90 in the UK and €49.90 across select European markets and is essentially the same device as the Bluetooth Speaker C that debuted in China earlier today.

Xiaomi Sound Play Specifications

From a design standpoint, the Sound Play adopts a familiar cylindrical form factor, weighing in at a relatively light 415 grams. It includes a built-in soft rubber strap for carrying it around, and it’s available in four colors: black, white, green, and purple.

Xiaomi has included an infinity mirror LED setup on the top of the speaker that creates a tunneled depth effect. This is paired with a secondary ambient light ring on the bottom that can pulse to the beat of whatever you are listening to, or just stay on a constant glow if you prefer something less distracting.

On the audio front, the Sound Play is equipped with an 18W racetrack-style full-range driver, paired with both internal and external passive radiators designed to boost low-end frequencies. The speaker ships with the Bluetooth 6.0 standard, which promises lower latency and stable connections at a distance of up to 25 meters.

It also supports Auracast, allowing users to link up to 100 of these speakers simultaneously for synchronized audio and lighting. For a more traditional home setup, you can rely on standard True Wireless Stereo (TWS) pairing to link two units for dedicated left and right audio channels.

The speaker packs a 2,600mAh battery rated for up to 14 hours of playback, though the figure is based on 40% volume with RGB lighting disabled. The device carries an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.
