The new Mijia unit is a 3-horsepower system built specifically for large living rooms and open floor plans. Inside, it uses a 25.1 cc dual-cylinder compressor, which Xiaomi says is a 19% increase in displacement over its standard configurations. This is paired with dual-row pure-copper evaporators and condensers, which have also seen increases in their overall heat-exchange surface area.

In terms of output, the air conditioner has a maximum cooling capacity of 11,000W and a heating capacity of 16,000W. Xiaomi claims that when using the unit’s 140Hz high-frequency mode, it can begin cooling a space in 15 seconds and provide heat in 30 seconds.

To distribute the air, the system relies on dual sine-wave motors that generate an airflow volume of 1,800 cubic meters per hour. It features a 115-degree wide-angle sweep and can push air up to 16 meters away. Xiaomi has also included directional settings like Sky Curtain Wind to route cold air across the ceiling and Carpet Wind to direct heat along the floor, preventing direct drafts.

Despite the high output, the air conditioner carries an Annual Performance Factor (APF) rating of 4.90, meeting China’s Super Level 1 energy efficiency standard. Xiaomi estimates that its built-in energy-saving algorithms can reduce electricity consumption by roughly 660kWh per year.

The unit is also designed to handle extreme weather, with an operating range spanning from -35°C to 65°C, maintaining stable performance even in severe freezing or heatwave conditions.

As expected from a modern Xiaomi appliance, the Ultra 3HP integrates closely with the company’s smart home ecosystem. It runs on HyperOS Connect, allowing for vehicle-to-home automation and voice control via the Xiao AI assistant. It also features an onboard AI module that handles real-time temperature and airflow adjustments, while cloud connectivity enables full OTA updates and remote diagnostics to automatically alert users about dirty filters or low refrigerant levels.

The physical design is relatively understated for its size, featuring matte exterior panels, an ITO touch display, and a sliding air outlet that hides away when the unit is powered down.

In related news, Xiaomi has recently unveiled a new 13kg washer dryer featuring electrolytic cleaning and HyperOS integration, alongside an instant hot water dispenser with a built-in ice maker.
