Red Magic has announced the Gaming Tablet 5 Pro in China. It is a smaller Android tablet built specifically for gaming, featuring a flat-edged design and a transparent back panel that shows off the internal cooling system and RGB lighting.

Red Magic Gaming Tablet 5 Pro Specifications
The tablet features a 9.06-inch OLED screen with a 2.4K resolution. It runs at an 185Hz refresh rate and uses Red Magic’s X10 panel material. According to the spec sheet, it hits 1,100 nits of standard peak brightness and 1,600 nits for HDR content. The display has a 16:10 aspect ratio, 100% of DCI-P3, and 4.9mm bezels. To register inputs during gameplay, it uses a Synaptics S3930 touch controller with a 300Hz multi-finger touch sampling rate.

Inside, the tablet runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, alongside a secondary RedCore R4 chip that handles background tasks like frame interpolation and touch adjustments. To keep the device from overheating under load, Red Magic included an active liquid-cooling system. It relies on a small internal pump to move cooling fluid through a vapor chamber, combined with liquid metal thermal paste.
The tablet also includes Red Magic’s CUBE Gaming Engine 3.0 to intelligently allocate system resources for smoother gameplay while improving power efficiency.
The tablet ships with Red Magic OS 11.5. It comes with a built-in PC emulator with a Steam direct connection mode, which is designed to let you play PC games locally while syncing your cloud saves. There are also a few AI tools included: a tactical coach that suggests in-game strategies, and a voice assistant powered by DeepSeek that can generate audio responses in multiplayer games.

The camera setup is straightforward. There is a 13-megapixel camera on the back and a 9-megapixel camera on the front for video calls and basic facial recognition.
It is powered by an 8,300mAh battery that supports 80W wired charging, though Red Magic includes a 100W charger in the box. It also supports bypass charging, meaning you can plug it in while playing and the power will run directly to the system instead of the battery.
The tablet includes two USB-C ports. Both support 80W charging, but one is a USB 3.2 Gen 2 port for faster data transfers and connecting to an external monitor. It also features dual stereo speakers, a fingerprint scanner, and a screen casting tool that supports wireless mirroring to a TV or monitor at up to 4K at 144Hz.
