iQOO is expected to hold its next major launch event in September or October in China. It goes without saying that the iQOO 16 will be the star of the show. The same event may also see the arrival of a couple of other devices, such as the iQOO Neo 12 and a compact tablet. The latter has been in the rumor mill since last year but had not made much progress. Finally, the device has bagged its first important certification in China, revealing that it is inching closer to launch.

iQOO’s compact tablet bags its first certification

iQOO’s forthcoming mini tablet is SRRC certified

The screenshots above show that an iQOO tablet with model number iPA2691 has been approved by China’s SRRC authority. According to reliable tipster Digital Chat Station, this device will sport a compact form factor.

The tipster further revealed that the device will be powered by the 2nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series chip. It appears that it will only arrive in a Wi-Fi-only version, as it is not expected to support a SIM card.

Being a performance-focused model, it is expected to feature an OLED panel with thin bezels and support for a high refresh rate. Hopefully, upcoming reports will reveal more details about this device in the coming days.

In related news, iQOO is reportedly working on a device tentatively called the iQOO Neo 11S for the Chinese market. While there are no official teasers yet, this device may debut later this month or in August. With a Dimensity 9500-series chip onboard, it is expected to be a minor refresh of the existing iQOO Neo 11, which was announced last year.
