Meet the Mijia Wireless Floor Cleaner 5C, the latest in Xiaomi’s popular budget-friendly vacuum cleaner lineup. Officially priced at 999 yuan (~$150), it’s already dropping to 899 yuan with regular subsidies. Not bad for a feature-packed cleaner. It’s scheduled to go on sale August 3, following up on last year’s 4C model.

Xiaomi bumped up the suction power from 15,000Pa to a strong 18,000Pa, which should do a better job on dirt, dust, and pet hair across different floor types. They also added triple anti-tangle technology (it even earned TÜV certification), so you won’t have to keep stopping to untangle hair or fur. This is a big win for households with pets.

Other nice touches:

  • Lighter design that’s easier to push around
  • 60°C hot airflow for better drying and odor removal (helps prevent mold and bad smells)
  • Up to 45 minutes of battery life
  • Quiet operation at around 50dB

Xiaomi says it can clean a big 341m² apartment on a single charge, which should be plenty for most homes.

The 5C aims to fix common complaints from older models: stronger suction, less tangling, and faster drying. In China’s crowded smart home market, Xiaomi continues to make decent tech feel affordable, especially when you combine it with all the current discounts and government incentives.

It’s a perfect example of their strategy: give people useful, modern cleaning tools without making them pay premium prices.

There’s no word on global availability yet. But considering the 4C model is already listed on the brand’s global website, there’s a decent chance the 5C will eventually make its way to international markets.
