Xiaomi skipped a direct follow-up to the Mix Fold 4 in 2025, so the Mix Fold 5 has been building up as the brand’s next big foldable release. The upcoming foldable is said to have a wider, more compact design compared to earlier Mix Fold models, and today’s leak is giving us our first look at the front of the device.

In a now-deleted post, Weibo tipster Panda is Bald shared images of the phone’s inner panel today, which show large rounded corners rather than the sharper edges seen on past models.

The front camera sits in the upper right, in a small cutout. Along with the design, the images also show the phone running on HyperOS 4 with a liquid glass visual style.

Speaking of which, promotional images for HyperOS 4 are also making rounds on the web. It teases liquid glass design, Super Xiao Ai expert mode, and a new integrated device center for managing connected gadgets in one place.

Moreover, there are a couple of new under-the-hood changes. Xiaomi’s own kernel is said to pick up load calculation and memory preloading, both meant to help the system handle background tasks more efficiently. There’s also mention of a soft-light glass material built to mimic the optical behavior of real glass in the interface.

Beyond the software, the phone itself has been picking up its own trail of leaks. The model number 2608BPX34C already turned up in an online certification listing, and the tipster behind today’s images described it as Xiaomi’s top-end release for the year.

Earlier reports also tipped it to feature a 7.5 to 7.6-inch display with reduced crease, a 200-megapixel main camera, a 6,000mAh battery with wireless charging, and Xiaomi’s own Xring O3 chip in place of a Qualcomm processor.
