Xiaomi has released the Redmi Note 17 Pro and Note 17 Pro Max in India, following their global announcement last month. The new smartphones are positioned in the upper mid-range market and differentiate themselves primarily through battery capacity, chipset, and physical durability.
Redmi Note 17 Pro and Pro Max 5G Specifications

The Note 17 Pro Max 5G is the higher-end model, starting at ₹49,999. It comes with a mammoth 10,000mAh battery. Xiaomi says this can provide over four days of light usage. While actual battery life will vary depending on individual use cases, a 10,000mAh capacity is roughly double what is currently standard in most smartphones.

The device supports 100W wired charging, with the charger included in the box, and offers 27W wired reverse charging for accessories. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 processor, along with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.1 storage.

The standard Redmi Note 17 Pro starts at ₹36,999 and features slightly scaled-down specifications. It includes a 9,000mAh battery with 67W wired charging and 22.5W reverse charging. This model uses the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chip and offers up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

Both models feature a 6.83-inch 1.5K flat AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 3,500 nits. For durability, these carry IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings, indicating resistance to dust, continuous water immersion, and high-pressure water jets. The displays are covered by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, and Xiaomi claims the devices are tested to withstand drops of up to three meters.
For cameras, the Pro Max includes a 50MP main sensor with OIS and an f/1.5 aperture, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 32MP front camera. The standard Pro model uses a 50MP main sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and a 16MP front camera.
Both phones run on HyperOS 3, based on Android 16. The company guarantees four years of OS updates and six years of security patches.
Availability
The Redmi Note 17 Pro will be available starting September 17, and the Pro Max will follow on September 23. Both will be sold through Xiaomi’s website, Amazon India, and offline retail stores.
