Oppo’s been quietly expanding one of its more interesting mid-range phones beyond China. The Oppo A7 Pro Max 5G first showed up in China back in August 2026, and it’s now launched in Austria, Malaysia, and Thailand. If you’re the kind of person who hates hunting for a charger every few hours, this one’s worth a look.
The big headline is the battery: a massive 10,000mAh pack. That’s among the biggest you’ll find in a mainstream phone right now. It also supports 80W wired charging (so a full top-up takes about 90 minutes in ideal conditions) and 27W reverse charging, meaning you can use it to top up other devices in a pinch. Oppo’s using silicon-carbon battery tech that should hold up better over time and keep more of its capacity after lots of charge cycles.
The rest of the phone is solid mid-range fare. You’re getting a 6.78″ AMOLED screen at 2,772 × 1,272 with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness up to 1,800 nits, so outdoor visibility should be decent.
Under the hood is the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 (4nm) with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. Cameras are more modest: a 50MP main sensor with OIS, a 2MP mono secondary on the back, and a 50MP selfie camera. Video maxes out at 1080p/30fps both front and rear.
While the camera specifications aren’t exactly exciting, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4-like camera plateau and a multi-color “Breathing Light” make the phone’s appearance stand out.
It packs an IP69K water and dust resistance rating, an optical in-display fingerprint sensor, and NFC. Software is ColorOS 16 on Android 16. Despite the huge battery, it’s not a brick: roughly 163 × 78 × 8.6 mm and about 224g.
Pricing depends on the market. In Austria the 6GB/256GB model is €599 (around $688). Malaysia and Thailand get the 8GB/256GB version for MYR 2,299 (~$563) and THB 19,999 (~$600) respectively. Colors are Surfing Blue and Lunar Black.
