Xiaomi Mijia Graphene Heater Pro launches with tower design and 2000W heating

Xiaomi has launched the Mijia Graphene Heater Pro as a step up from the Mijia Graphene Heater C it announced nearly a month ago. The heater will go on crowdfunding on September 28 at 349 yuan (about $49) before mass release. 

The Mijia Graphene Heater Pro has a vertical tower design that takes up little floor space. The front keeps the large curved air outlet and micro-perforated mesh from the Mijia Graphene Heater C, which splits the airflow into finer streams so you don’t get a direct blast of hot air. You control the heater with physical buttons on top, making it easy for older family members to use as well.

Heating and power modes

Xiaomi pairs graphene, which conducts heat well, with a PTC ceramic heating element. The company says the heater starts producing heat within 3 seconds and transfers heat more efficiently than a traditional fan heater. 

It has a 2000W heating element and three modes: high-temperature hot air, gentle warm air, and natural wind. Once the room reaches your set temperature, a constant-temperature algorithm lowers the output, so the heater doesn’t keep running at full power and the room temperature stays more stable.

The heater oscillates across 70 degrees, compared with 80 degrees on the Mijia Graphene Heater C. Its tower-style air duct also lets you adjust the airflow up and down as well as left and right. Xiaomi says this helps warm the far corners of a bedroom, living room, or study.

You can control the Mijia Graphene Heater Pro through the Xiaomi Home app or Xiao Ai voice commands. The app lets you turn it on and off, set a target temperature, schedule timers, and link the heater with other Xiaomi Home devices. The heater cuts power if it tips over or overheats, while its body uses V0-grade flame-retardant material.

Xiaomi has announced only China pricing so far, and there is no word on a global release.
