Following a release in the UK market last month, Casio has officially launched its MTP-E740 series of analog watches in India. The new lineup introduces five distinct models to the region, the MTP-E740-1AV, MTP-E740-2A1V, MTP-E740-2A2V, MTP-E740-3AV, and MTP-E740-4AV.
All five variants share the same hardware foundation and are priced uniformly at ₹6,995 ($73).
Design Details
The MTP-E740 series is a straightforward, traditional three-hand analog timepiece that prioritizes basic timekeeping functionality over smart features. Built with a stainless steel case and bezel, the watch measures 45 x 39.8 x 8.7 mm.
At 8.7mm thick, it maintains a relatively slim profile on the wrist, while the overall weight sits at a substantial but manageable 103 grams. The dial is protected by standard mineral glass, and the watch is secured with a matching stainless steel band featuring a one-touch, three-fold clasp. The band is designed to accommodate standard wrist sizes ranging from 150 to 205 mm.
For daily use, the Casio MTP-E740 series includes day and date displays on the dial. The day indicator also supports both English and Spanish, allowing users to choose their preferred language.
The watches also carry a 50-meter (5 bar) water resistance rating. While this is not intended for deep diving or high-impact water sports, it is entirely sufficient for basic daily exposure to water, such as washing hands, light rain, or recreational swimming.
Internally, the lineup relies on a standard quartz movement powered by an SR920SW battery. Casio estimates the battery life to be approximately three years before requiring a replacement. The timekeeping accuracy is rated at a standard ±20 seconds per month.
The five different model numbers represent variations in dial styling and colorways, giving buyers a few aesthetic options within the exact same hardware framework. The entire MTP-E740 collection is currently available for purchase in the Indian market through Casio’s retail channels and authorized storefronts.
