Red Magic is positioning its next gaming flagship as a big step up in both performance and how it feels in the hand. The Red Magic 12 Pro+ will come with Qualcomm’s latest high-end platform and is being called the brand’s best-feeling device yet, aimed squarely at dedicated mobile gamers who want sustained power and a more refined experience.

During Qualcomm’s recent announcement of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, Red Magic confirmed that the 12 Pro+ will be one of the first phones to use the higher-end chipset.

Ni Fei, President of ZTE’s Terminal Business Unit and Nubia Technology, talked up the partnership, saying the chip’s speed, energy efficiency, and advanced features should deliver faster response times, more immersive gameplay, and more stable performance during long sessions.

The phone is set to launch in October 2026. Red Magic is putting a lot of emphasis on a redesigned form factor that’s lighter, thinner, narrower, and more rounded than the previous model. Teaser images show tighter screen bezels and softer corners, with the bezels cut from 1.25 mm down to 0.96 mm. The front is expected to use a fully under-display camera with no visible holes, giving it a pure full-screen look.

Jiang Chao, General Manager of Red Magic Gaming Phones, stressed the focus on core gaming strengths: the phone is built to handle heavy loads, keep cool during long sessions, feel more comfortable in the hand, and stand out with a distinctive design. He also noted that the everyday system experience has been refined so it’s more usable day-to-day alongside its gaming focus.

Full specs still aren’t out, but the combination of the new Qualcomm platform and Red Magic’s usual dual-cooling setup (liquid cooling plus active fans) should help it maintain high performance for extended play. The push for better ergonomics suggests they’re trying to balance raw power with comfort for longer sessions.
