Casio has officially expanded the availability of its G-Steel GST-B1000 series, bringing two new analog models to the US market. Originally launched in Japan this past August, the GST-B1000-1A and GST-B1000-2A are now available stateside directly through the company’s website.
Design Details
The watch features a slimmer and lighter design, with Casio reducing the thickness to just 11.6mm through adhesive glass bonding and a more compact internal module. It combines a stainless steel bezel with Casio’s Carbon Core Guard structure for added durability.
Instead of a metal bracelet, the GST-B1000 models use a bio-based resin (urethane) band, which helps keep the overall weight down to just 58 grams while supporting Casio’s growing use of bio-based plastics.
The release includes two visual variants. The GST-B1000-1A features a standard black dial, while the GST-B1000-2A opts for a blue dial treated with a vapor deposition finish that shifts depending on the lighting.
The analog display is straightforward, utilizing a three-hand setup alongside two sub-dials that indicate the 24-hour time and the day of the week, plus a standard date window. For visibility in low light, the hands are treated with Neobrite, supplemented by a white LED Super Illuminator.
On the technology front, the GST-B1000 relies on the Tough Solar charging system, which can power the watch for about five months on a single charge under normal use, or up to 18 months with the power-saving feature enabled.
They also include Bluetooth connectivity. By pairing the watch with the Casio Watches smartphone app, you get automatic time adjustments, easy access to alarm and timer settings, and a built-in phone finder tool.
Standard G-Shock durability metrics remain intact, including 200-meter water resistance and standard shock resistance. The watches also feature a mineral glass crystal, a screw-lock crown, a 30-minute countdown timer, and a daily alarm.
Pricing and Availability
Both the black dial GST-B1000-1A and the blue dial GST-B1000-2A are priced at $385. They are available for purchase now through the Casio US website.
