Casio has announced a new set of three G-Shock watches in Japan. Manufactured at the company’s Yamagata Casio facility, the upcoming models take standard G-Shock hardware and apply colors, materials, and textures designed to look like tuna, salmon roe, and salmon. The watches are currently available for pre-order on the Casio Japan website and are scheduled to ship later this month.

Design Details & Pricing
The first model is the DW-5600SSH-4JR, which costs ¥19,250 (around $122). It is based on the digital 5600 series and is designed around lean tuna. The watch uses a red, translucent clear resin for the case and band. The face features a printed pattern meant to look like tuna meat, alongside green accents that represent wasabi and a small tuna silhouette on the dial. The case, bezel, and band are made from biomass plastic.
The second watch is the DW-6900SSH-1JR, priced at ¥20,350 ($128). This model uses the round 6900 case to replicate the look of an ikura gunkan-maki, or salmon roe sushi. The black bezel is meant to represent the nori seaweed wrap, while the transparent dial contains a graphical pattern of salmon roe. To complete the design, the underside of the resin band is white to represent sushi rice.

The third model in the lineup is the analog-digital GA-2100SSH-4AJR, which retails for ¥21,450 ($136). Based on fresh salmon, the watch has an orange colorway and a dial textured to look like salmon flesh. Casio has also changed the handset for this model: the hour and minute hands are shaped like Japanese kitchen knives, and the small sub-dial hand is designed to look like a piece of nigiri. This watch includes the Carbon Core Guard structure and a double LED light.
Beyond the cosmetic changes, these function as standard G-Shock watches. All three models include shock-resistant construction, 200-meter water resistance, stopwatches, timers, alarms, and LED backlights. The two digital models have an estimated battery life of five years, while the analog-digital GA-2100 is rated for three years.

Casio also included a few shared design elements across the collection. The stainless steel case backs are engraved with a Japanese teacup, which is traditionally served at the end of a sushi meal. The packaging is styled after Japanese souvenir boxes. When the watches are removed from the packaging, a printed wasabi graphic is visible underneath, except on the salmon roe model, which features a no wasabi graphic instead.
In related news, Casio has recently launched three stylish GMA-S160 G-Shock watches with lightweight designs, along with a jaw-dropping limited-edition MRG-D5000 G-Shock crafted from blue sapphire.
