Mijia Desktop Study Lamp Max Specifications

The Mijia Desktop Study Lamp Max uses a dual-reflection light control structure to reduce direct light reaching your eyes. Xiaomi says it can illuminate a 1.6m × 0.6m desktop with average illuminance above 950lx. Its screen viewing mode directs light toward the desk rather than the monitor, helping reduce reflections while working.

The Mijia Desktop Study Lamp Max is also the first desk lamp in the Mijia lineup to include a backlight. Dubbed the background compensation light, it’s designed to brighten the space behind the desk and reduce the difference in brightness between the work surface and the surrounding room.

Inside, the lamp uses single-core, multi-peak full-spectrum LED beads, with a solar spectrum fitting coefficient (GFC) above 0.985 and a Ra color rendering index of 97.

The company says the lamp exceeds the AA-level luminous intensity requirements for reading and writing desk lamps. In the normal area, average illuminance reaches 1,100lx with a uniformity figure under 4. In the center area, the average goes above 1,650 lx, and uniformity is 1.6. The lamp also follows Xiaomi’s Qingshan eye protection solution, has no visible flicker, and carries a blue light hazard rating of RG0.

Automatic lighting and reminders

The lamp has two light sensors, one on top and one at the bottom. They track changes in desktop and ambient light and adjust the main light and backlight together.

The lamp is also built with a 24GHz radar that detects when you sit down, so you don’t need to flip the switch yourself. Xiaomi already uses seat detection on the Mijia Vertical Study Lamp 2, a floor lamp that it sells for 2,499 yuan.

You can also set reminders in the Xiaomi Home app. The lamp supports prompts for light usage, focus time, sedentary fatigue, and low ambient light, and you can customize how long each reminder lasts.
