Samsung’s wider foldable design opens up new ways to use the Galaxy Z Fold 8 beyond simply unfolding it into a larger screen. From watching videos at a comfortable angle to running three apps simultaneously, the device offers several practical ways to take advantage of its unconventional form factor. Here are seven ways I enjoyed using it.
1Watch YouTube and Netflix at your preferred angle
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 can be propped up in a slanted position, making it convenient to watch YouTube videos, Netflix shows, and other content without holding the phone. The viewing angle can be adjusted to suit your position, while the volume buttons remain accessible on the opposite side.
You can also fold the device into a tent-like shape. While this orientation serves a similar purpose, accessing the volume buttons becomes less convenient. I could not find a particularly compelling use for this position, although keeping the phone in tent mode with my calendar open could be useful for glancing at appointments while working.
