Samsung is continuing its habit of making extra-fancy foldables exclusively for the Chinese market. The new Galaxy W27 is basically a more exclusive, dressed-up version of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, aimed at people who want the top-end hardware with a bit more flair and business-friendly extras.

The design stands out with a dual-tone look and premium golden accents on the frame, hinge, camera module, and lens rings. It also gets the signature “Heart to the World” emblem on the back. Color options are Jihu Blue and Jixia Hong. Build-wise, it uses Advanced Armor Aluminum for the frame, Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3 on the cover display, and carries an IP48 rating. There’s a side-mounted capacitive fingerprint sensor too.

The screens are an 8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X main foldable display (2,504 × 2,256, 20.9:18) paired with a 6.5-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X cover screen (2,520 × 1,080, 20:9). Both hit up to 3,000 nits peak brightness and support HDR10+.

Camera setup includes a 200MP primary with OIS, a 50MP ultrawide with autofocus, a 10MP 3x telephoto, and dual 10MP selfie cameras. Everything can shoot 4K at 60fps, while the main and ultrawide go up to 8K at 30fps.

Under the hood sits the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy, matched with 16GB of RAM and either 512GB or 1TB of storage. It launches on Android 17 with One UI 9.0 and is promised seven major OS updates, plus Galaxy AI and Samsung DeX support.

Battery is 5,000mAh with 45W wired charging and 20W Qi2.2 wireless. Connectivity covers 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, UWB, NFC, and Tiantong satellite communication for emergency calls and messages.

Samsung is bundling it in a special collector’s edition box that includes a 45W charger and a Kevlar protective case.

Pricing starts at 18,999 yuan (around $2,850) for the 16GB/512GB model and goes up to 21,999 yuan (around $3,300) for the 1TB version. As usual with the W series, it’s China-only for now.
