Razer Phone could be said to be the progenitor of the gaming phone trend which swept through the smartphone industry last year. The wave saw the launch of several gaming phones after Razer unveiled the first gaming phone. models such as AUS ROG phone, Nubia Red Magic, Xiaomi Black Shark phone, Honor Play and more were launched. Razer is now working on the Razer Phone 2 and already, press invites are sent out for an event holding on October 10. Ahead of the event, Razer has listed the model on the Google Play Console which means the device may have been certified by Google Play.Razer Phone 2

The Play Console listing reveals the device goes by the codename – Aura. This clearly distinguishes the model from last year’s model which was codenamed “Cheryl”. Among the key specs listed is an 8GB RAM as well as a Snapdragon 835 chipset and Adreno 540 GPU. But for the chipset, the listing wouldn’t have been in doubt. The Razer Phone 2 is expected to utilise a Snapdragon 845 chipset with the Adreno 630 GPU firing up the graphics. It is possible this is an error anyway because sources say its unusual for a high-profile device to show up in the Google Play Console ahead of launch. Razer Phone 2
