Oppo’s sub-brand just announced the Realme 5s in India. Now, the Realme 5 series includes three models: Realme 5, 5s and 5 Pro, in order of price and specifications. However, that order does not necessarily mean that the most expensive phone is the best for your needs. Given that all of these handsets are sold in the price range from €100 to €200, there are no huge differences between their specifications, in most cases. So, it may not be easy for dummies to understand which one is the most interesting. That is why we made this comparison between all of the devices from the Realme 5 series.

Design
Realme 5s is just a slight upgrade of the Realme 5 and it has exactly the same design, the same dimensions, and the same aesthetics. Realme 5 Pro has the same look as well, but it is more compact and lighter. Each of these three devices features a plastic design, so do not expect premium materials. But their displays are protected by Gorilla Glass 3+ and all of them are splash resistant, so the build quality is still pretty nice. Besides being more compact, the Realme 5 Pro even comes with a slightly higher screen-to-body ratio, that is why we recommend it if you care about the design.
Display
If having a good display is your priority, the most suitable smartphone for you is the Realme 5 Pro. Indeed, Realme 5 and 5s have just an HD+ panel, and it even comes with a very wide diagonal that results in a low pixel density. Its definition is sufficient but below-average. If you want a high level of detail and a better panel, choose the Realme 5 Pro since it comes with a Full HD+ resolution. It has a smaller display diagonal (6.3 inches), but it is a lot better due to its high pixel density. Each of them comes with a waterdrop notch and a rear-mounted fingerprint reader since here we are talking about IPS panel not supporting in-display biometric sensors.
Specs & Software
Realme 5 Pro also wins the performance battle since it is equipped with a more powerful processor. It is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 running at a max frequency of 2.3 GHz. There is only one Qualcomm’s midrange chipset better than the Snapdragon 712: it is the Snapdragon 730G found on the Realme X2. Both Realme 5 and Realme 5s are equipped with a Snapdragon 665 SoC. In each case you get a micro SD dedicated slot, a memory configuration with up to 4 GB of RAM and up to 128 GB of internal storage, and Android 9 Pie out of the box customized by the Color OS user interface.
Camera
The weakest point of the Realme 5 if we compare it with Realme 5s and 5 Pro is the camera department. The 5s and the 5 Pro are way better camera phone and they feature the same quad rear camera including a main 48 MP shooter, an ultrawide sensor, a dedicated macro camera, and a depth sensor. Even the Realme 5 has a quad camera, but the main sensor is an inferior 12 MP unit. None of these smartphones is a top camera phone, but with Realme 5s and 5 Pro, you will get pretty decent shots. Note that, while Realme 5 Pro has the same rear cameras as the 5s, it packs a different (and better) 16 MP front camera.
Battery
Realme 5 and 5s are battery monsters and win this comparison due to their higher 5000 mAh capacity paired with a more efficient HD+ display. The battery life of these phones should be the same in every scenario. Realme 5 Pro has a smaller battery but it features a faster charging technology: VOOC 3.0 with a 20W power.
Price
Realme 5 has a €113/$125 price tag in India, Realme 5s will start from €125/$138 and Realme 5 Pro costs €176/$195. Realme 5 Pro wins the comparison with its more performing Snapdragon 712 chipset and a better display, but Realme 5 and 5s offer a longer battery life (in case of the 5s, you even get the same rear cameras).
